David R. Gray, Jr., founded and manages Gray Law Offices, an Illinois law firm concentrating on civil litigation and appeals.
Our focus is in the areas of real estate taxation, personal injury, torts and, contracts. David is admitted to practice in the state courts of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
David has thousands of hours of courtroom experience over two decades representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in a wide variety of civil lawsuits. David has represented parties in all courts across Northern Illinois, from administrative bodies to trial courts, the Illinois Appellate Courts, and the Illinois Supreme Court.
From 2008-2020, David co-authored, with Jeffrey S. Blumenthal, two chapters of REAL ESTATE TAXATION; Chapter 10 – Tax Bills and Payments; Tax Sales and Redemptions; Miscellaneous Collection and Enforcement Matters and Chapter 11 – A Guide to Tax Deed and Indemnity Fund Proceedings published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
David authored chapter 14 of REAL ESTATE LITIGATION, Litigation Relating to Real Estate Installment Contracts, published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education in 2016 and 2020.
David authored two chapters in CAUSES OF ACTION: TORT ACTIONS, Chapter 17 Negligence: Professional Real Estate Malpractice, and Chapter 18 Negligence: Professional Appraiser Malpractice published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education in 2019 and 2022.
David is a former Chairman of the Chicago Bar Association’s Real Estate Taxation Committee. David has spoken at many legal education seminars, including an IICLE Real Estate Taxation program held at the University of Chicago’s Gleacher Center, a Chicago Bar Association seminar entitled Emerging Issues in Consumer Bankruptcy, Chicago Bar Association Real Estate Taxation, and the DuPage County Bar Association.
David is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
